Tasks
Monitoring background operations
How to use the Tasks view to monitor background jobs such as transaction imports, portfolio scans, and data resets.
Many operations in Portfolio Manager — such as importing transactions, recalculating portfolios, and resetting derived data — run in the background so you can continue working while they complete. The Tasks view lets you see what is happening and whether anything has gone wrong.
Go to Tasks in the left navigation to open the task queue.
Reading the task list
The task list shows your most recent background operations, sorted by creation date (newest first).
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Task type | The kind of operation (e.g. import, scan, reset) |

| Created | When the task was queued |
| Started | When execution began |
| Completed | When execution finished |
| Error | An error message, if the task failed |
Typical tasks
You will see tasks appear here when you:
- Import transactions — for example, importing a Nordnet CSV or syncing from Saxo Bank or Bitstamp.
- Recalculate portfolio — recalculating holdings, average cost basis, and history for a portfolio. This is triggered automatically after imports and when you reset a portfolio.
- Reset derived data — clearing and recalculating computed fields for an account or portfolio.
